Dear pastors and friends,

It has been our privilege to work with Darlene Turner over the past couple of years in at least a couple different capacities.

Darlene's counseling and experience has been important to the growth and life change of residents and clients that we have served. She has assisted young women here with issues small and large. She has great compassion for those with whom she works and relies upon God's word to provide answers to client needs and questions.

My personal observation includes Darlene's care and compassion for each individual she works with, but kindly and skillfully communicates the truth even when it may not be what a counselee is hoping to hear. We need this in our world today.

Along with her experience as an employee here at Ruth Harbor, Darlene has also cared for special counseling needs of those needing our help, but not a part of our program. She has gone the extra mile in assisting these individuals even when their ability to pay for services is limited.

Darlene Turner and her husband David have been faithful members of Cornerstone Family Church since 1995.

Darlene has worked with children of various ages, assisted in our counseling department, taught Bible studies, led prayer groups specifically for children, worked with Women's Ministry and is a member of our ministerial association.

She has always been very responsible and faithful to complete those things assigned to her. Darlene is wonderful Christian woman who would bring many gifts to your church. We have been blessed to have she and her family in our congregation.

It is our good fortune to have Darlene Turner work as our counselor here at Federated Fellowship Church. She has been here for eight months. Previously, we become acquainted with her while she was employed at Ruth Harbor House in Des Moines where she counseled the pregnant teens who were apart of that program.

Darlene is a caring and compassionate individual and faith based counselor. She genuinely cares about her clients but never loses her sense of professionalism. Darlene's abilities have far exceeded our expectations and we look forward to a continued partnership with her here at Federated Fellowship.

I would like to introduce to you, Dr. Darlene Turner. I have known Darlene for several years in the capacity of sister in the Lord, student, lay counselor and friend.

Darlene and I became acquaintances at our church, then she sat under my teachings and instruction through Bible classes and then eventually under my oversight as my lay counselor. I am recently retired from my counseling duties, but served as a counselor at Cornerstone Family Church in Des Moines since 1996 and in the office of Director of Spiritual Counseling from 1998 through 2006.

As time has progressed and Darlene has begun a counseling ministry of her own, she has become a trusted colleague and friend. I value her highly and have come recognized the special gifting and qualities in her as a Biblical counselor. I present her to you as having credentials, ability and experience as a counselor that ministers in this capacity with integrity and is above reproach.
